John Lyall Architects was formed in 1991 and has now grown into a respected London based practice.
The practice has since established a reputation for producing innovative solutions to complex urban regeneration projects. The projects undertaken range from small-scale refurbishments and extensions to the regeneration of derelict conservation areas in Leeds, Norwich and Cardiff.
Central to the practice philosophy is our commitment to use our architectural skills to contribute to the creation of inclusive, responsive environments, which enhance and enrich the experience of contemporary living.
We particularly enjoy working in the urban environment, where we are driven by the desire to find innovative contemporary solutions to complex urban regeneration projects where strategies for sites and individual buildings act as catalysts for the long term enhancement and regeneration of the area.
We recognise that any good architecture is a product of a shared vision and a close collaboration between the client, professional consultants and contractor, and as such, we seek to maintain a healthy working relationship at all times.
The practice is structured to provide a dynamic approach to anticipating and interpreting client needs and translating them into exemplary buildings. Our inclusive studio environment encourages contributions from all of the team members, whilst allowing the senior members of the practice to maintain an overview of the design and realisation of each project.
John Lyall has been in practice over twenty years, during which time he has gained an international reputation for designing innovative buildings. He has lectured worldwide and currently holds the positions of design `enabler' for CABE and chair of the RIBA/ARB Education Validation Task Force.
John Lyall Architect's work has been extensively published in books and magazines throughout the world.
