New house for a medium sized local developer

Eastabrook Associates are a practice of Architects and Landscape Architects base in Stow on the Wold in Gloucestershire. The Practice has undertaken a wide variety of projects but the largest percentage of work is in the housing sector. This work ranges from bespoke 'Country' houses to larger urban and rural schemes for housing developers. These have frequently won regional awards.

Being in the heart of the Cotswolds the majority of our work is within Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Conservation Areas. Where the project is for alterations and extensions this often involves Listed Buildings. We therefore have considerable experience negotiating schemes with the Planners and Conservation Officers at the LPA.

We are particularly skilled in obtaining quality Planning Permissions for 'difficult' sites in desirable areas with a poor planning history. Recent successful projects have also involved farmyards changed to residential use where listed barns have been converted. This type of 'Permission' is becoming considerably more difficult despite the encouragement of 'brownfield' use.

The Practice is willing to undertake feasibility studies 'at risk' and have preliminary meetings with planners subject to the usual commitment of an appointment should the project proceed.

Illustrations on this page represent our range of housing work and are listed as follows:-

1. Dairy farm wishing to re-locate out of village.

2. Proposed housing scheme for farmyard for which Planning Permission was obtained

3. A bespoke Country House with Stables and Poolhouse. Main approach.

4. As above with loggia link between house and poolhouse

5. New house as part of small residential award winning scheme for a medium sized local developer.

Further information on the Practice, including other sectors of work, can be found on our web site and references can be provided from previous and current Clients should these be required.

Our Practice philosophy can be summed up by quoting Dom Bellot (1876-1944)

"Contemporary Architecture should be informed by tradition but, to respond to the needs of the present, it must innovate."
